Windows Insider Preview 10.0.15007 Information

Hello there!

There is a big hype around latest Insider Preview for Windows Mobile. We get a lot of emails and comments about that and want to clarify couple things.



  1. There are connectivity issues on some devices.
    We haven't investigated that, but if the app works for you on a stable build and stops on Preview, this means that the issue is in OS update. This happened before and not once, so we believe that Microsoft will fix the problem soon, but this can take from a week to couple months. They have to do this anyway, for the sake of backward compatibility :)
    Reminding again: you are using Insider Preview builds on your own risk. Please, send complaints to Microsoft.
  2. GATT Server API was introduced in this build.
    Is it useful for us? Can't say sure, but, probably, no. We already can send notifications to the band with existing APIs.
    The idea behind GATT Server API is that band might become able to send notifications back to the phone/PC. AFAIK, Mi Band doesn't do this. Saying other words, Xiaomi should implement support for this on a hardware side first.
    If you possess some specific info regarding Mi Band and GATT Server, let us know.

    is simple: if you want stable work, use stable builds (not insiders)... who use insider builds, dont have rights to complain :)

    950XL here. yes I see the connectivity problems. Let's be constructive: I try to provide the details of my situation and someone else can chime in, maybe we can figure this out without harassing the App developers that have no fault here. So, I had to reboot my phone just to be able to re-pair the Miband2. Why did I have to do it? simply because I (foolishly) thought that re-pairing would solve the issue. Well it didn't. But at least after a reboot I can now pair the device at Bluetoothh level. The app still doesn't see it. On an internal Yammer thread, some colleagues suggested that doing a phone hard reset, will make tons of things better. It's on my to-do list now, maybe in the next days I will try and let you know if works.

      I also have the same problem with Lumia 930 and this build. Hard reset haven't solved the issue, the app still can't see my Mi band.

    930 the phone sees the clock and connects but the app does not detect it and refers to Bluetooth settings

    Don't know if is due to GATT Server API or not, but fitbit announce :
    "Initially we will plan to have support for Call & SMS Notifications."
    So perhaps something interesting for you in this new OS version for Call notification.

    If you go to log of the app it says connected to gatt server and connected to miband2 so the problem maybe is in app..

      Same for me with Lumia 930, but notify mi band says that can't access Mi Band by bluetooth, in the privacy settings other devices notify mi band is not listed under mi band

      Same for me with Lumia 640XL.
      Bind me works with 15014 but not Notify Mi Band.

    We have been cheated, bought the application to the PRO subscription version for life and neither update, the functions super reduced compared to Iphone and Android, tells you that you have the band's updated firmware and it's a lie.
    Mr Ian deserve an explanation from the people who have paid for the App.

      to me the firmware was updated. then the function there and it works. not the official app can not be compared to app on android or ios.

      Guys, everything is pretty simple. Firmware is the latest on the moment of last major update of the app. Soon we include the fresh one with new update. You should not really worry about it, because new firmware does not change your experience a lot.

      Thank you, Mr Ian, for having answered me. As far as I understand the firmware is only updated when an update of the App comes out, is not it?

      Porque compras algo que te dice expresamente que te ofrece para luego quejarte? Es una aplicación NO oficial. Todos queremos mayores funciones, incluido el desarrollador.

      En el punto dos dice que no cree que sea útil, porque está enfocado a que smartwatchs envíen datos al móvil, y la MiBand solo recibe.
