Happy Birthday, Bind Mi Band! Release 1.13

Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday, dear Bind Mi Band!
Happy Birthday to you!

Around a year ago the app was published to Windows Store. It was just started as a fun project that potentially could become useful for Windows Phone users. The first draft was made on hackathon for one night. No one expected that it will be of so great help to people. We are feeling really happy about how many people we have helped and have big plans to continue doing this.

It may be interesting to know that the app had 54 190 downloads from the Store and we had 60 734 views on the blog. But you probably will be surprised (we actually are!) to know that we have received and sent more than 5500 EMAILS regarding support and other questions. And we are still happy to receive your feedback and questions :) (but, please, read FAQ before that).

As a small present for all of you, we have made release 1.13 (not the best number, yeah...)

In the 1.13 update, we have added detection of running (hooray!). Also, we added calories and distance calculation for each walking/running activity. We take into account your height, weight, and pace, but still these values are approximate for such type of fitness band, so you should consider using other GPS-empowered apps for running workouts.

Additionally, we have improved (at least we believe so) detection of daily sleep. Please, feel free to tell us about your experience with these improvements.

Usually, we try not to promise anything, but today is a special day, right? We still won't promise anything, but will just share our vision of the plans for the nearest updates.

Update 1.14 will be mostly technical. It won't bring new features, but should improve some internal and UI parts in preparation for update 1.15.
In update 1.15 we want to deliver detailed sleep and running analysis. No big promises here, but we'll do the best we can.
Update 1.16 will be related to statistics visualization and storage. This is gonna be huge :)

These plans may change, but this is how we see it now. Also, we'll publish more info about HR tracking and on-call vibrations soon (nothing good there).

But now let's go and have a party!

Thank you for being with us this year! Let's bind!
