Hi everybody,
We have some news regarding Windows 10 and Mi Band. Let's start with the bad one. (update is in the end of the post)
Since Windows 10 release, we received numerous letters regarding issues of Bluetooth stability and connectivity. All of them seem to be fixed in update 10586.218. After it was released, issues almost completely disappeared (here and here the Bluetooth-fix is confirmed).
But in latest Windows 10 Insider Preview update 14322, which is on Fast Ring of updates, Bluetooth LE support seems to be broken again. We diagnosed the issue, tried to push some improvements, but OS doesn't give access to Bluetooth device, throwing different exceptions. From some users, we hear that the same issue is happening to similar apps, so it's not a problem of Bind Mi Band.
We can't do anything with it, guys. You knew what you signed for when joined Insider Preview. So try to roll back to the stable version of OS or wait for next update. If you got any solution or possible fix to the issue, please let us know.
And now to the good news...
Notifications support is coming for Windows 10!
On Build 2016 there was a short demo and the speaker later confirmed that this API will be released in Windows 10 Anniversary update. Other sources report that this will happen by the end of July 2016. By that time, we'll try to deliver a first solution which will empower all Windows users with notifications on their Mi Band's (hooray!).
Oh, yeah, one more thing. I've started to receive questions regarding Mi Band 2 and if it will be supported by our app. We know nothing about this band, how different it is from previous versions, there are only first rumors. So let's wait until official release or even day when we get it.
Have a nice weekend! (with W10M 10586.218 :)
UPDATE: In Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview 14342 Bluetooth issues are fixed! Yeah!
Did you try compile your app with new sdk 14332? Maybe M$ change something in API :)
ReplyDeleteHi. Our app is WP8.1 app, so it's no help. Anyway, things like this shouldn't happen. There can't be any breaking changes to existing APIs. It's too bad even for Microsoft. I think that this is just some stupid bug, which will be fixed soon.
DeleteI hope so :)

ReplyDeleteguys.. who care about test Redstone 14332 version??? Redstone (anniversary update) is in testing period and be released in July and now is full of bugs and problems...use stable 10586.242 and no problems...
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid that MS made breaking change in SDK and developers will have to develop different app to W10 th2 and w10m rs1
ReplyDeleteThank you for information. So, keep us informed, please. We're waiting for Bind Mi Band on W10M 14322
ReplyDeleteThe application does not work under redstone 1 version 14322. I look forward to improving on your part, or from MS. Im waiting too.
ReplyDeleteyes with this release the bluetooth is completely messed up! But I know that is a possiblity when you experiment builds, so I'll just wait..Thank you that keep us well updated about the development and the sourrinding stuff. Keep working like this, you are great! :D
ReplyDeleteWill a UWP version of this app be available soon so that it's not only restricted to Windows phone but can live anywhere -- phone, table, or PC -- giving users more flexibility?
ReplyDeleteis not only UWP what needed... important thing is also BT hardware version on device. if not v4.x, band not working...
DeleteI continue to be impressed with your openness and great communication on your progress. Thanks!
ReplyDeletePlease make an app for i5plus fitness band
ReplyDeleteYour app work awesome with Mi Band v2!)
ReplyDeleteOn windows 8 can't update firmware band
But on windows 10 update works fine!
Thanks you!
App is great, any chance of publishing data to other app/sites. Would love to be able to share this info with my inkin profile, no way to do this as yet. Any chance of a totals page, total for month, year, since app start etc. do seem to get an odd disconnect, don't know if its app or band or windows. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteOh and any chance of live tile?
ReplyDeleteApp is great, keep up the good work. My first thing was to buy pro version.
ReplyDeleteAny chance of detailed sleeping data in the future or/and continous heart rate monitoring for running apps like runtasic?
Cheers
+1
DeleteMust be about due an update ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt still not working with Redstone 1. Unhappy 🙁
ReplyDeleteMicrosoft confirmed that it is Windows 10 Mobile fault.
ReplyDeleteSure it is. Its working fine on wp10 but not in prevy
DeleteOnly one public redstone 1 build is broken. b14322
DeleteWith the last rs build 14342 work fine!
ReplyDeleteI confirm this.
DeleteOff topic, but are others experiencing poor battery life on their Mi1S? My band dies in less than 48 hours, even with no use of heart rate.
ReplyDeletebattery life for 6 month old 1S band is around 40 days of light use...
DeleteAfter 2 weeks with rare heart rate scanning I am at 75 %, so something is wrong with your band.
DeleteHey guys! Lumia 950xl with .318 on , no insiders.
ReplyDeleteMy miband works fine BUT when I go jogging it records it like walking! Does anyone have the same issue?it has never recorded running no matter if I run fast or slow!
Any ideas?
I never see running record on miband 1a. On miband 1s I see running record
DeleteIt's supporting it, from what I have seen on the updates description, that's why I am curious why it doesn't work!
DeleteI see only walking, while with official app on iphone, I see Activity for the same pattern (both running and walking for short distances).
DeleteThere is a new firmware 1.0.12.5 for miband 1 (original, no pulse). However I don't see any way to update it with BMB. Is firmware updating working in current BMB?
ReplyDeletenot working. on my newer 1S must update with android phone
DeleteHey, is it possible to add vibration when you are not active enough, when sitting too long? Just like on the other bands?
ReplyDelete+1
DeleteNo, it's not supported by Mi Band.
